Breeding Projects for the 2012 Season

This year we have the following snakes paired up.

Vasion x Thaliel

This will be our third attempt at breeding Bredl's pythons, hopefully third time is a charm and we'll get some babies. If not there's always next year...

Lomestel x Glorhiril

Lomestel is a Bob Futo jungle from a mixture of Lasik, Schuette and Hamper bloodlines and Glorhiril is a VPI jungle. Hopefully we will get a number of striped and partially striped jungles. This year will be the first breeding attempt for Lomestel and a second attempt for Glorhiril.

?? x Nogawsklov "Bug"

We have a few ideas for what to pair with Bug, our female 75% jungle-jag. One option is Lomestel a striped Jungle, the other is a Python Pete line 75% Diamond x Jungle...

Elrohir x Vana

Once again we're trying to produce a viable clutch from these two jungle-coastal types. These two should produce some very nice high contrast carpets hopefully with a decent amount of striping appearing in the clutch.

Jack Skellington x Carnë

We are excited to finally attempt breeding Carnë our 2007 holdback to her sire Jack Skellington. Carnë was a red neonate and looks so much like her sire we hoping for a number of red and orange neonates from this pairing, but due to the polymorphy of Amazons, we really don't know what to expect!

Future Plans...

Every breeder has the next few seaons mapped out in their head, we are no exception. Here is a glimpse of the corner stones of our collection and what you can expect to see being produced at Ghostfish Herps in the next few years...

Striped Carpets

Striping in snakes always excited me, so we've selected heavily for striped carpets. We've found a few jungles with some nice striping from various bloodlines (VPI, Lasik/Schuett/Hamper, and Turner x MTC). We'll be crossing the few we have to striped and unstriped individuals to see if we can improve on intensity of the stripe, cleanness and color. We also have a pair of striped and semi striped jungle/coastal types that will be paired to see if anything is inheritable. We'll also breed our Baylin Tiger coastal to a female coastal type that has some "Tiger" characteristics.

Boa constrictors - Orangetail hypos, Pearlescent, and Nova

We only have 4 boa constrictors at the moment, but we selected a group that will complement each other very well. It's going to be a very long four years until the females become big enough for breeding. We can't wait to see how the drastially reduced patterns of the Super Orangetail Hypos will interact with the Nova and Pearlescent genes!
